SPARTAN RACE Prep DAY 67 (TAEKWON Fri: Insane leg day)

002Today is Friday which means…. IT’S TAEKWONDO TRAINING TODAY! Woohoo! Fantastic training today and I think my legs will be super sore tomorrow morning.

What we did:
Running 1 round around the campus
Stretching
Raising kick from one end of the hall to the other 3 rounds
Slamming kick from one end of the hall to the other 3 rounds
Raising kick into forward split from one end of the hall to the other 3 rounds
Followed by cardio:25 push ups, 25 squats, 30 crunches, jogging/sprinting on the spot, tuck jumps burpees (warm up further)
20 slamming kicks followed by 50 mountain climbers
20 front kicks(stomach level) followed by 50 mountain climbers
20 front kicks(head level) followed by 50 mountain climbers
rest

By this time, my legs were fatigued and I could no longer ‘snap’ the focus mitts with my legs. I could feel that my quadriceps were a little strained.

After this, a majority of the students went to do their poomsae in preparation for competition as well as grading while I take a few newer students to focus on roundhouse kicks.

Tired…

    Great workout!! Looks pretty tiring!
Another one you can try instead of kicking with mountain climbers, is to do 20 jump squats instead and then go into kicking after and do that 3 sets! That’s usually a pretty killer one for us over here if you guys want to try it out!
Good luck to your students on their test day!
