Went for muay thai today and we practiced some new techniques: teep to front leg to stop opponent from moving forward and front leg inward roundhouse to stop opponent from moving forward.
As the technique is a bit tough, we were not able to do it as cleanly during pad work. As such, the intensity also went down as we struggle to perform the techniques.
|Start||Warm up: jumping jacks, running on the spot, tuck jumps|
|15 push ups, 10 clap push, 15 squats, 10 tuck jumps, 40 crunches, 10 jack knives|
|Teaching||Practice technique: teep to front leg to stop opponent from moving forward|
|Practice technique: front leg inward roundhouse to stop opponent from moving forward|
|Defense against teep to front leg: walk back|
|Defense against front leg inward roundhouse: cross leg shin block|
|Practice||Combination 1: jab, right roundhouse, cross hook, pad man teeps front leg while the other guy steps back, left roundhouse, cross, circle away|
|Combination 2: jab, right roundhouse, cross hook, pad man launches front leg inward roundhouse while the other guy does a cross leg shin block, right knee, right elbow|
|After each round of combination do 50 punches and 20 roundhouses ( X2)|
|Conditioning||Jab, cross, jab, cross as fast as possible whenever the coach counts 3mins|
|cross leg shin block followed immediately by right roundhouse X20|
