I strain my neck often when I lift weights. I thought I was using my accessory muscles but it may be just that I am lifting a lot heavier than I should. My neck has not recovered since the last barbell lifting exercises. Hence, I decided not to just it but lighten the weights a bit to allow my muscles more sufficient time to rest.
