DAY 298: Muay Thai Clinch and Knee Counter to Cross

Finally back to Muay Thai training after the long Chinese New Year holidays. I have eaten too much, as always, and need to lose some.

We learnt a new technique today, clinch and knee counter to punches. Not a very difficult technique but hard to execute due to the fact that one needs to have superb timing.

Start Warm up: jumping jacks, running on the spot, tuck jumps, burpees
Stretching
Shadow boxing
20 push ups, 5 clap push ups,  20 squats, 5 tuck jumps, 40 crunches, 10 jackknive
Teaching Practice technique:  Jab, cross, pounce in left hook, jab, pounce in left hook, cover block X2, left hook, right hook
Practice Combination:  :  Jab, cross, pounce in left hook, jab, pounce in left hook, cover block X2, left hook, right hook

Conditioning:  50 jab cross

2 Rounds

Teaching Practice technique part 2: tap block (jab), clinch and knee counter to cross, left cutting elbow, right cutting elbow, cover block X2, clinch, right knee, left knee, push, right roundhouse, left roundhouse
Practice Combination:  Jab, cross, pounce in left hook, jab, pounce in left hook, cover block X2, left hook, right hook, tap block (jab), clinch and knee counter to cross, left cutting elbow, right cutting elbow, cover block X2, clinch, right knee, left knee, push, right roundhouse, left roundhouse

Conditioning:  50 jab cross, 20 roundhouse

3 Rounds

Conditioning Dancing knees 30 sec

Side dancing knees 30 sec

Dancing knees 30 sec

Tuck jump 30 secs
